Fish Fry - It's that time of season again, the leaves are changing color, the weather's getting cooler, and the Wacousta--DeWitt Masonic Lodge is developing the wonderful smell of fish again. Don't forget to sign up for the Fish Fry.All scouts are expected to sign-up for two shifts and 2 adult are needed to volunteer to supervise each Friday. Please contact Mrs. Fellows to sign up for the Fish Fry. You can get more information about the Fish Fry and check out the fish fry schedule at this link.

Pictures - If any parents have pictures of the Troop that they would like posted online please e-mail them to me at teejaysmith427@aol.com. If you are the parent of a first year scout, please double check with me to make sure that I have a press release form for your son before e-mailing the pictures. Thanks!

Camping Info - if you are interested in learning about about some camping tips you can visit http://www.exceldistributors.com/rv-tent-camping-guide.html. This page is mainly aimed towards camping in a camper, but there are some good tips for tent camping also.  A special thanks to Jared for finding this resource!

Youth Protection Training - is required for all registered leaders and merit badge counselors (even chauffeurs and chaperones).  If you have not completed the online course in the last two years, you need to do so.  Leaders and merit badge counselors who do not update their youth protection training will be removed from the charter and merit badge counselor list.  Youth protection training is highly recommended for all adults involved scouts.  Please bring a copy of the completed training for our records.   Go to http://www.scouting.org/Training/YouthProtection.aspx.

A good site for viewing merit badges is scouting.org.

SIGNALS is online!

Signals is the newsletter that the council used to send out to the registered adult leaders.  In a cost-saving measure, the Chief Okemos Council will no longer mail a copy of Signals out to anyone, unless you specifically request it.  They do, however, make it available online to anyone, and will even send out an e-mail reminder when a new copy is placed on their website.  If you would like to get this notification, go to the council website and register your e-mail address there.  Click on the "Signals and Scouting Updates" link near the bottom of the page and follow the directions.
