Youth Protection Training - is required for all registered leaders and merit badge counselors (even chauffeurs and chaperones). If you have not completed the online course in the last two years, you need to do so. Leaders and merit badge counselors who do not update their youth protection training will be removed from the charter and merit badge counselor list. Youth protection training is highly recommended for all adults involved scouts. Please bring a copy of the completed training for our records. Go to http://www.scouting.org/Training/YouthProtection.aspx.
A good site for viewing merit badges is scouting.org.
SIGNALS is online!
Signals is the newsletter that the council used to send out to the registered adult leaders. In a cost-saving measure, the Chief Okemos Council will no longer mail a copy of Signals out to anyone, unless you specifically request it. They do, however, make it available online to anyone, and will even send out an e-mail reminder when a new copy is placed on their website. If you would like to get this notification, go to the council website and register your e-mail address there. Click on the "Signals and Scouting Updates" link near the bottom of the page and follow the directions.
